Stefan Christen, Metabolomics Researcher at Nestlé Research in Lausanne, Switzerland
Stefan is a biologist by training with a PhD from ETH Zurich, where he focused on microbial metabolism. After completing his doctorate, he moved to the Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie (VIB) in Belgium for a postdoc, shifting his research toward mammalian metabolism and gaining a broader perspective on metabolic regulation across biological systems.
Since joining Nestlé Research in Switzerland in 2017, Stefan’s work has continued in the areas of metabolomics and physiology. Over the past years, his scientific focus has increasingly centered on vitamin B3 and NAD metabolism, as well as on exploring how these pathways could influence cellular function and healthy aging.
