PhD in Chemistry and Director of the Biosensors in Neuroscience Laboratory.
Valle Palomo graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 2008 and that same year joined the CSIC Institute of Medical Chemistry with professors A. Martínez and C. Gil to develop neurogenic and neuroprotective drugs for neurodegenerative diseases. In 2012, she obtained her PhD and in 2013 she joined the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla with Professor P. Dawson. There she focused on the development of quantum dot nanoparticles and the synthesis and conjugation of peptides. In 2016, she returned to Spain as a Juan de la Cierva fellow at the CSIC’s Biological Research Center. In 2018, she created her own research group thanks to a Junior Leader grant from La Caixa. In 2021, she moved her laboratory to IMDEA Nanoscience, thanks to a Ramón y Cajal grant, and now heads the Biosensors in Neuroscience laboratory.
