Mari Carmen Alvarez holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Valencia and has over 15 years of experience in biotech leadership. She co-founded Valentia Biopharma, the first biotech spin-off of the Valencian University, where she spearheaded the development of therapies for rare diseases. Currently, she is the Managing Director of Tetraneuron, leading the development of innovative gene therapies for neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. Mari Carmen has been involved in over 10 international consortiums, managing cross-functional teams, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications, and holding a patent as lead author.
